“Add Selected” is an often overlooked tool that can save you time in AutoCAD. How often have you needed to create a new object that is just like one you already have in the drawing (same object type, color, layer and so on), but with new geometry? How did you do that? How many steps did it take? That’s where the “Add Selected” command comes in. Just pick the object on screen and right-click. Then pick “Add Selected” and a command will start to create a new object with the same properties.
Give it a try. It’s easy and may save you a lot of time.
One thing to note is this command works with AutoCAD objects, but not Civil 3D objects like Alignments or Points.
